"Recoverable misplaced" = residual waste × 28% (estimated fraction incorrectly discarded).
"Contamination cost" = sorted waste × contamination rate × cost delta. Junker behaviour improvement
factor: 25% (conservative; published studies show 20–35% range). CO₂ factor: 0.6 t CO₂ per ton of waste
diverted from landfill/incineration (IPCC). PPWR compliance cost estimate: 5% of residual savings as
proxy for potential regulatory penalty exposure. Figures are estimates for illustrative purposes and may
vary by local context.
